I'd say May or June.
Days are long.
There is a reasonable chance to get fine weather.
There are some interesting events (Roland Garros tennis competition, fĂȘte de la musique on 21rst of June)
July and August are nice, but Paris is nearly empty, except for tourists (especially in August). It can get quite hot and air conditioning is not as common as in North America. |

As long as the French are there, never. However if you really want to go, go during their winter, during the French summer, all of the French are out visiting, Switzerland or the USA and only the rift-raft are left there to treat you like garbage. |

I like May because it's bustling with some good weather, but not too muggy yet.
I like September because everyone is back from holiday and the cultural season starts.
And I love early December when the christmas lights are on and all the shops are decorated: gorgeous! |
