Where's the best place to stay in Paris close to the sights - near the Champs Elysee?
Additional Details Not worried about a specific hotel, I'll research that on trip advisor closer to the time I'm going. Just the best location/area - as a central sightseeing base
Stay in the Latin Quarter (close to the river) - central Paris is easy enough to walk around & see all the sights on foot, and the Latin Quarter has more atmosphere than staying around the Champs Elysees, much more the real Paris...
All of these hotels are within a 5min walk to the Champs Elysee and the Arc de Triomphe.

That's a difficult question to answer without considering what you want to pay.
The "best" place close to the Champs is probably the Hotel de Crillon at 10, Place de la Concorde but the cheapest double room costs 695 euros a night. (The best costs 8200 euros...more than $10,000 a night)
If you'd give me some information about your price range I could make a more appropriate suggestion.
