Hi There,as a long time ex-pat living in france...I agree that france is is not benidorm, and social drinking is cool but drinking to be social is a good way to tarnish our already bad reputation!! . Anyhow, I could recommend a million places in the south of france..but try montpellier as a first stop, argeles sur mer, villefranche sur mer, nice,st tropez...etc etc but don't forget the only cheap alcohol you'll find anywhere in france is either in a supermarket or in a small village where you mix with the locals, speak french a little and have the best time of your life!!! Ps: I only mentioned the above towns as you're 21,if you were older I would recommend vence, coullioure, biarritz, avignon,l'isle sur sorgue, carcassonne, arles etc etc..enjoy your travels . |

they don't go anywhere to drink, not like us.
they go to places to meet people, to talk, to eat, to pick up partners, never to get a lot of cheap alcohol down them.
do not drink a lot while you are with French people, they will despise you. |

any irish pub will be good, sounds stupid though to seek out an irish pub in france but the drinks are cheap and the crouds are usualy other travellers!
but the previous poster is right, dont get too drunk or the french think you are a total a$$ |

Toulouse is a large university city with plenty of students, and bars and cafes where they congregate. It's OK for young people to drink in France, but I totally agree with other posters that drunkenness in frowned upon. You'll soon lose your new-found friends if you get rolling drunk. |

I've been to pubs in France and the pint (Foster) was the most expensive pint I ever had.
If you go to France, do as they do (the coast of the Atlantic and the Mediterranea) are packed with youngsters/students whilst cities tend to be quieter during summer. |
