Well, that depends... perhaps you could give us a list of some of the things you like to do? If you like mountain-climbing, the Alps or Pyrénées would be a good choice. If you like wine, you may want to tour some vineyards in the Loire Valley or near Bordeaux. If you like surfing, word has it that the best place to go in France is Biarritz. If you like castles, you might want to check out the châteaux in the Loire Valley. If your idea of a great vacation is getting tan on a beach, you'll probably want to go to the Côte d'Azur. If you like Celtic culture, you might want to explore some small villages in Bretagne (Brittany, in English). Also, are you looking to focus on cities, the countryside, etc?

I advise you to go to Provence. In Aix-en-Provence. That beautiful. It's close to Marseille, Arles, Avignon, Cannes, Nice. And the countryside is just lovely!
Well, maybe I say that because I live there :-)

Paris...blah...blah...blah. Nantes is great! Marseille is great! Carcassone is great! Lyon is Great! The Alps are great! Nice..blah...blah...blah. Avignon..Blah..blah...blah. Bretange is fantastic!

Just check out the sights in Paris for a couple a days and then high tail it out of that hole!
