Take him to the Louvre. A child that age will be fascinated by art - just the colors and shapes and whatnot. If you read a bit to about each piece, you'll be exposing language and art at the same time.
Their minds are like sponges at this age. This won't be something he/she remembers. But it'll keep that little brain active and growing. |

The Science Museum "Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie" is a great place for children of every age. They have a lot of activities and experiments there and the expositions are very suitable for children. No need to know French! There are several playgrounds in the park where the museum is. Have much fun there!
I wouldn't recommend the Louvre for the child, as it is a very big and intimidating place for children (huge halls, very big crowds, queues/lines); people get annoyed by the children and therefore the children get annoyed by everything.
Go to the Science Museum, it still keeps their little brain "active and growing" ;) |

Paris has many beautiful parks to visit. I would go to the Jardin du Luxembourg on a Sunday afternoon . . . it's the place to be with kids. Les Bois de Vincennes has a zoo. See this: http://www.discoverfrance.net/France/Paris/Paris_parks2.shtml
Also, you should take them to the Centre Pompidou and pretend to be human hamsters; they will love it!
The boat rides along the Seine might be fun for them (bateaux-mouches).
Also, take them up the Eiffel Tower. Very cool during the day or at night.
If you want to see the most amazing collection of overpriced stuffed animals and other toys (besides NYC's old FAO Schwarz), go shopping at the Galeries Lafayette (http://www.galerieslafayette.com/).
Have fun! Or, amusez-vou bien! |

You sure can!!!
Paris is my daughters favorite place in the world!!! There are lots of cool things to do there.... get a ticket on the boat taxi... and you will get to see a lot of the city... and your toddler will love the ride on the boat!!! you can get off at all of the sites that you would want to see... show your child the Hunchback of Notre Damn (the Disney one) and then take her/him there.. they will be able to relate it to something and will probably remember it (maybe) the shops and cafes are nice... get a crepe and share it while you walk through the park!!! there are lots of nice parks there..... I think that it is a great place to take your family... and from my stand point it is a kid friendly city!!!! |
