Where can I find a good french-speaking tv drama?

I took a one and a half year french class and then took one whole year off the language. i will be picking up the class again this september but need help with my nearly forgotten french skills. however, i found that watching other language-speaking shows with english subtitles is one of the best ways (and most fun, too, if the show is interesting!) to learn the language without pouring myself over strenuous language books and listening tapes. i learned quite a bit of korean and japanese that way!

but i cant seem to find any french dramas (with subtitles) online...

help, please?

i'd rather not watch movies; i prefer tv series.

(p.s.i posted this message on the entertainment category as well, but thought that i should post it here too because my chances of getting a good answer might be better.)

Here is a list of 250 French TV series. I'm certain you can find many of them on DVD.

Have you looked into TV5 Monde? Their programming is a mixed bag; some of it is really good while some of it is not. However, subtitles are occasionally used, and they show a number of series.

TV5 Monde USA: http://www.tv5.org/locaux/usa/
I hope that helps.

Just to add to David's answer

TV5Monde is available free on many satellites if you don't want to watch online. (I don't know whether it's free on any of the US ones though - I suppose that is where you live. If you are in the UK, buy yourself a satellite dish and point it at Astra 1, you will get it free of charge there, or you can get a Sky dish and pay a subscription for the same channel). It is also on certain US cable networks.

SUE
Not sure exactly what you´ll find, here, but try this...it says in parenthesis, generally, if you are looking at something with dubbing or subtitles, etc....

This is the one I usually wind up downloading from, though this:

casts a wider net.
