go to south of France. The western side has really good "terroir" food. It depends on what you enjoy the most eating, but it goes from "confit de canard" (Gers, Dordogne & Landes), "aligot & estoffinade" (Aveyron), to "cassoulet" (Toulouse) ..... etc !

Get out of the city's and into the country side! Try the youth hostel walks and trails. the people are great always willing to greet and share. Its a hard country to go hungry in!
