What nationality are you? You have to be a citizen of one of the EU nations to be allowed to work in France. Nationals from other countries have to apply for a working visa from the French embassy in their country. This visa has to be obtained before entering France.
There are no job centres in the Pyrenees. If you are British you would have to look at "Offres d'emploi dans les Pyrénées " on the net. There might be some jobs in the tourist industry such as in skiing resorts, but other than that it is the wrong time of the year. Added to which there is a very high level of unemployment for French nationals at the moment and many people chase up the few jobs that become available; the chances of the jobs being given to foreigners are therefore lessened.

The ski stations; and being a european national is required; plus to be French speaking

There are still many small vineyards that handpick and employ travellers and don''t advertise other than the local (National Departement D'employ) the equivalent of our job centre. Otherwise you can go to the local 'halle de publique' where people register and wait while jobs come in over the phone during the harvest.
