My family lives in Baccarat!!!
It is known for the crystal of course!
It is in the North east of France, around 4 hours from Paris, 30 minutes from Nancy and 1hour 15 minutes from Strasbourg.
It is a very industrial town, not very nice. There are some crystal stores, and the most famous is the one with the Baccarat brand. You can go there and look at the Chandelier made for the Shah of Iran (if I recall correctly) but never delivered because he got ousted before the light fixture was finished...It is breathtaking.
My grand pa used to work in the plant, the people there are true artists and craftmen.
There is a museum too and I think you can visit the old plant.
besides that, not much to see there!
