Stay in Montmartre. Alot of history and cheap hotels, right on the metro line into downtown Paris.

The Hotel St. Andre des Artes at 66 rue St. Andre des Artes is a personal favorite of mine and has a few three bedded rooms for 110 euros (includes breakfast).

I spent all night searching for hotels and if you go to trip advisor it will give you all the reviews, look up lonely planet on line and you can go through all the accommodations they have.
Fodors: http://www.fodors.com/ also lists hotels
these have accommodations for three people: http://www.hotelbelfortparis.com/ratesenglish.html

As far as I know, all the Formule-1 places are outside of Paris limits. On the ends of the subway lines are hotels called ETAP with private bathrooms, a dining hall and good rates. They are often associated with a Novotel which will be just a bit more expensive and nicer. Another option is to find a hostel. There are dozens of them in Paris. I like a couple of websites for hostels: bootsnall, and hostelworld.
