France is a big place (about twice the size of the UK) with a population of only about 60 million. This means that, with the exception of Paris and the Cote D'Azur, nowhere gets too busy. The roads are fantastic, especially if you don't mind paying to use the toll roads, and are rarely busy. This means it's really easy to get around and see lots of the country. Generally, the further south you go, the better the weather will be. The Loire Valley is pretty reliable for sunshine and has probably the best range of castles in the world. The Vendee (Atlantic coast south of Brittany) has some great beaches but can be windy. If you want a hot beach holiday - Cote D'Azur, if you want a cultural holiday, pretty much any decent sized town (the French take their culture very seriously). If you want activities, try one of the big rivers. The Dordogne area has loads of water sports and there are great houses to rent. There is a national organisation in France called Gites de France where you can rent some great houses for very little money (we rented a house last year with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living/dining room and traditional French country kithcen. There was also a huge garden and we got the place in August for 280 Euros (about £180 pounds or $360). The website is at:

www.gites-de-france.fr

Basically, France has something for everyone. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Like the other answer said it depends where you wanna go but i've been to paris it is amazing.

Briancon & surrounding areas.

Fly to Turin, Italy, hire a car, drive over to France.

The Alps are beautiful, weather so-so like most places, In the winter it's a ski resort but we go yearly in the summer, and it's the most relaxing holiday we've ever had (and thats with two noisy children with us!)

to depend where do you want to go ......
France is huge, the weather depends. if you go to the south you should get a good weather. In fact, you should give us more informations about when you want to go, what kind of holidays do you want, if you are going alone or with your family....

As an experienced traveller I would say that France is one of the nicest country in the world!
Every region of this country is so special.
There is a lot of difference between the north and the south, the atlantic coast and the med' sea side, the alps mountain range and the center with old vulcanos...etc.
Also about museums, castles and culture...so much to see !
You can have a look at this web site :
