Where to go, Monte Carlo, Saint Tropez or Canne in August?

Hi, I want a few days away in south of France with Wife. A little sun, sea, sangria (or french equivalent) and maybe a little celeb spotting. Would you recommend, Cannes, St. Tropez or Monte Carlo? We are flying into Nice and hiring a car, we will be there for a few days only. Any Ideas? anyone know the area well?

They are so close together that you could stay at any one of them and visit the others. I have been to all of them and never spotted anyone famous. I think they tend to stay in their posh villas up in the hills and away from the tourists!!!

Lovely area and there will be plenty of sunshine in August, hot, hot, hot. Too hot for me, I have only been in June and then it's more sun than we ever get here.

Bon Voyage

I have no idea what it will be like in August, but last year my husband and I went to Nice for a few days at the beginning of March to celebrate his 70th birthday. We flew out from Bristol with Easyjet, got the bus from outside the airport to the
Hotel Excelsior, 19, Avenue Durante, 06000, Nice, tel +33 1 00 00 00 00. It was literally only a few yards from the station. No need for a taxi. We went on the Monday, on Tuesday we took a bus to Monte Carlo. On Wednesday we went by bus again to Cannes and on Thursday we stayed in Nice. We flew back on Friday. It was wonderful. The hotel is good and there are plenty of eating places very near. The Tourist Information office at the station was most helpful and told us about the buses. They were super and travel along the coast road in both directions (Nice being between Monte Carl and Cannes). We have recommended it to friends who have also been there and agree that it is far easier than hiring a car because of the parking etc. You get wonderful views from the bus (which is far superior to anything we have in the UK) and cheap. Not only that you can both look at the scenery!
Hope you have a wonderful time.

Monte Carlo is very beautiful. But you can enjoy Cannes, too. These are beautiful places. Even Nice. It's hard to decide! Bon voyage!

Just be aware that this is high-season in France, and the Riviera will be crowded. Whereever you decide to stay, try to book accommodation in advance. it already might be a bit too late to get a good hotel.

I didn't go but my dad and stepmum went to Monte Carlo last year and they said it was the best holiday they'd ever been on!!!

Hi!!!
I'm french and live in Nice. You can go to the 4 cities as they are very close each other (except St tropez, it is the farrest from Nice). If you want to see celebrities, go to St tropez or Monaco, few of them are in Nice or Cannes during this period. In you come in the end of July, you will see Brad and Angelina, their twins will be born in Nice this month (Lenval Hospital). If you want some advise about what to visit in the region, you can email me.
