Where to go in Paris at night? |
Hey I was just wondering where the best places to go in Paris are, in regards to pubs and clubs. I'm staying right near the Eiffel Tower, so bear in mind the last train times back to my area. I am going to Paris for one night in August. We are racing from Big Ben to the top of the Eiffel Tower and we want to go out in the evening for a meal and then go out for some drinks. We are all 18 and 19 years old. Any help would be awesome. Cheers |

There are SO many places my man!
If you want a recommendation, I'd go to the Montparnasse train station then just boot up and down a bit. There are very good cheap restaurants around there and also some great bars. You can't go wrong, it's Paris and the food is good! Last and best is the Mustang Cafe, which is my fave joint over there and believe me, you'd need to be dead not to have a good time. Waddya mean train times? The Metro runs late, but the cabs run even later so spring out for one!

The area where you are staying, near the eiffel Tower, isn't really the best for younger visitors. You'd probably be happier in the 4th, 5th or 6th arrondissments.
Be that as it may the Metro runs to around 1 AM on weekday nights and until around 2 AM on the weekends. The night buses run after that and even a cab isn't that ruinously expensive given that Paris is actually rather compact compared to, for example, London.
So I suggest not worrying about it and just heading over to the 5th or 6th. Take the Metro to the Odeon stop, get off and walk one block north to the rue St. Andre des Arts. Walk east along this street and if you don't see anything you like keep going to the place St. Michel, cross the satreet and walk along the rue de la Huchette checking out the scene to the rue St. Jacques.
If by then you haven't seen anything that strikes your fancy stop at Polly Magoo, a very cool bar, on the rue St. Jacques or find the rue Galand and go to Aux Trois Mailletz (which is my favorite hangout.). |

Avenue de Champs Elysée.
Only 10 minutes walk from Eiffel Tower. |

Check out the Latin Quarter. It's right near the sorbonne, so it's where the students are, ie people your age. There are lots of clubs there, and it's relatively close to where you're staying (its right across the river from Notre Dame) |
