Whereabouts in France is Marseilles? Which province or region?
Marseille is french second biggest city after Paris. It is situated in the south of the country, along the mediterranean coast, in a administrative region called "provence-Alpes-Cote-d'Azur". In fact the historic region in which it is situated is just "Provence", but it is not an administrative division of modern France.
The region is itself divided in "departments". The department in which Marseille is situated is "Bouches-du-RhĂ´ne". Its number is 13.
By the way it is not called "MarseilleS", but just "Marseille". Don't need to add an "S" to any french city name as many anglophone peoples do.
