Champs Elysees has some very nice restaurants...Although most of the stores are pricey, the restaurants are great and the view is awesome!!! Definitely worth checking out.

go to flunch! It was my favorite and pretty affordable.

When I lived in Paris I used to eat from the Street Vendor stands... they were cheaper, quicker and avaliable. However, for a sit down meal, I would pick some place where I had to walk UP stars or walk DOWN stairs to get to the restaurant and it had to be some place with a FIXED PRICE MENU.

I don't know what your tastes are in food, but assuming that you're neither vegetarian nor vegan, I'd recommend sampling some North African fare (large Algerian, Tunisian, and Moroccan community in France). Couscous with merguez is one of my favorites.
Couscous: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Couscous
Merguez is a spicy lamb sausage.
It's not hard to find. I used to have it frequently when I was living near Barbès-Rochechouart, in the 18th arrondissement. However, you can also do some food shopping in discount places, instead of eating out all the time. "Leader Price" and "Ed" are among the cheapest places to buy food in Paris. Anyone working at your hotel should be able to tell you where the nearest ones are, though if you know French you can check their websites.

Lastly, many boulangeries (bakeries) offer sandwiches. I hope this helps.
