Which American foods are not found in France?

I'm going off to Paris this weekend and I'm staying with native of the country, and he would like to make some dishes together and he wants to taste some recipes only found in America. I'm really at a loss, which foods are "American" and are not found in France? The only things that I could come up with so far are Chili, Pancakes, and maybe a good homemade burger? If anyone has any suggestions I would truly appreciate it! Thank you!

Most of the dishes of the American south and southwest are little known in France. So chicken fried steak, cheese grits, gumbo, red beans and rice, sloppy joes (rather than hamburgers which are commonly available in Paris), pecan pie, batter fried fish and hush puppies, hopping john, dirty rice, American style apple pie, and ambrosia salad all come to mind.

You will be able to find almost all the engredients, even tortillas, but they may be very hard to find. For chili and pancakes i'd bring a mix (they have chili kits - just add beef at the supermarket and krusteaz pancake mix) and syrup and put it in your checked baggage. You can find these ingredients, but it will be hard. I wouldn't do the burger thing... They have burgers in france.

There may be a speciaty from the area you live. New England - clam chowder, baked beans. Louisiana - jambalaya, gumbo, benets.

Bring your favorite bbq sauce?

ok this one is not even known in some parts of usa. marshmallow fluff.

i think kraft makes it. its whipped marshmallow. introduce them to a fluffer nutter sandwich. marshmallow fluff & peanut butter.

we had some students from spain stay with us and they loved it and took some home with them.

ticky tacky
Most of them are not found in France because America invented every form of food and hordes all of the recipes.

Don't forget to pack weight loss pills and power bars.

Safe traveling!
