It depends on what you want to see : more cultural or more seing the sea ....
If you want to see the castles alongside the Loire river, Tours is the most central town, and really it's worth seing.
If you want to see the west coast, La Rochelle is a beautiful town with a well-known harbour and it's more or less in the middle of France on the west coast. You can go to Bordeaux easily and taste some wines.
Nantes is also on the west coast and it's better to visit Brittany. Nantes is much bigger than the two other towns.
If you don't know, I would adice you the Loire Valley first. |
