I love France, and most places you travel to in the country are filled with friendly and nice people. The biggest thing by far is that you try to speak French when you are there. Even if you are embarrassed or sound horrible, it makes a huge difference. If you only try English, they immeadietly give back a rude response. As far as places to go, my first place would probably be Nice. It was not my favorite city, but I think of all the places I have been it has the most outgoing and friendly people. I have been to Monte Carlo, which is nice too, but there's not too much to do. There is also a small coastal town called St. Malo that I thought was very cool, but that is up in the northwestern part of the country. And as always, it depends on what kinds of things you like to do, so maybe just take some of the suggestions and google them to check them out better. Hope this helps! |

always the same, it depends on what you want to do or see... if we look to USA, it's not the same to go to New-York than to go to FLorida, or Arizona, or Alaska... you won't do the same things, won't see the same things... so you have to precise what you want to do (visiting cultural sites, just looking at the landscape, having nice walks, snorkeling, sailing, nightclubbing...), where you want to be (seaside, mountains, countryside, cities...). and about to meet friendly people, it all depends on you ! |

I recommend going to Nice, France. It is beautiful and it is right on the Mediterranean Sea. I went like 2 years ago and i did not want to leave. By the way... just to be sure... it is not pronounced NICE as in "thats a nice car." It pronounced NIECE as in "my niece is 3 years old. |

I agree with the previous answerer. My favorite city along the Cote d'Azur is Nice. From there you can make day trips to Cannes, Monaco, Eze, St. Tropez, and many other interesting places.
I have always found the people in Nice to be friendly. It helps if you try to speak a little French. They appreciate the effort. |

i would recommend Monte-Carlo in monoco it is a very beautiful place and has a wonderful casino which has a cafe next door where you can sit and watch all the porches and very mesmesmerizingrs drive past stopping at the casino. Althougt there is a beach i preferred the swimming pool because the beach isnt that nice. If you are looking for a more smarter hotel i would choose the fairmont hotel it is a brilliant hotel by seas with spectacular views but it is more exspensive. |

All the places in the French Riviera are beautiful...of course Nice, as some friends here are saying is great, but you have also other places like for example: Saint Tropez, Monaco, Cannes...and that is if you are thinking in sun and beaches, but if you are looking for other kind of places, France has it all... |
