Jujubear.

Which sties should i visit in Paris?

I'll be there for about 5 days mid August. I was obviously thinking the Tour Eiffel, the Opera Bastille, Notre Dame, Louvre, Sacre-Couer, Centre Pompidou, probably Champs Elysees, l'Arc de Triomphe... Should I exclude any of these sites? Include a chateau or something? I've heard that Versailles gets pretty crowded in August... Any Suggestions??
I also speak pretty fluent French I that counts for anything...
Feel Free to include any restaurant suggestions...though i'm vegetarian...
Additional Details
Let me know if i should consider any other sites...Thanks

Make sure you take some time to go to the Sculpture in the Open air Park on the banks of the seine. Around 9pm or so, it is full of people picnicing and loads of dancing happening everywhere. It really is so ad hoc and amazing and was my favourite thing about Paris.
So brush up on your salsa, foxtrot and tango and get on your dancing shoes.

I have been to Paris 3 times, and for short stays each time. But it will depend on what you like to do or what you want to be able to say you have done in Paris. But these are my don't miss suggestions...Go up in the Eiffel tower, visit Notre Dame, spend the whole day at the Louvre, visit Sacre-Couer (with tour, if possible) and enjoy Artist Square by Sacre-Couer, if you want see a cabaret show (maybe Moulin Rouge) although I have heard others are cheaper but just as good. And near there is a unique Museum of Erotic Art near the Moulin Rouge on Blvd. de Clichy. My daughter and I had a great time in Paris...we have memories of it that will last a lifetime. Have a safe and fun trip. Bon Voyage! I have heard that Rick Steve's travel guides are wonderful.

I visited Paris in 2000. It's a beautiful city. I'd love to go back. When you do go, be sure to TRY to speak French. If you don't they will not talk to you. They will say IN FRENCH that they do not speak English. They want you to speak their language. At least try and they'll help you.

I have seven years and had to brush up on it while I was there. It came in handy.

Here are some places that

Sacre-Couer is BEAUTIFUL.

Montmarte: It is an area up there by the Sacre-Couer where the artist are outside selling original work. It is called Montmarte. They are creating it onsite. You can get some NICE ORIGINAL ARTWORK. The artist will even do your portrait. It's really nice. The artist have their paintbrushes and everything.

I saw on the Travel Channel about Cities of the Underground. They did a show about UNDERGROUND FRANCE. The tours take you under the city to the many different corridors underground. They are made of HUMAN SKULLS AND BONES. It's like a little city down there. The corridors have street names. It's been told that you MUST stay with the tour guide because you could get LOST. Check it out!

I would say to also check out the jazz clubs in Paris. They are awesome!

You could also check out the Moulin Rouge. It is in the vicinity of Sacre' Coeur. It's in the Red Light District.

I would also suggest Versailles. I visited it! It's beautiful. It will take you at least three days to see all ofIt really makes you understand why the villagers were upset with the French royalty.

Have a nice trip!
