eurocentres
it is the best with students from all around the world.
it is in the quartie latin so it is in a place for students and it means that food and hotels around there r not expensive.

All the french universities have excellent levels. It might depend more on what part of the country you would like to be in...
Paris is very expensive...
The University of Claude Bernard Campus in Lyon is excellent (my children did their studies there) and Lyon is a lovely part of the country to stay at.
There is an excellent university also in Avignon, and another in Aix en Provence (a beautiful city with a great university atmosphere).
The University in Grenoble is also very well known. And the city is very lovely. (The only place in France with bycicle paths crossing the whole city! ...Great for students!), and there you are also near the ski resorts... Nice for winter holidays!).

All the universities have websites... Browse a bit and see if there is any you especially like!
And good luck, hope you enjoy your stay, wherever you choose in the end.
Bonne chance!

Choose the city, not the university, they are all the same.

Unless you have a lot of money, don't go to Paris. It's very very hard for a student to find an appartment (very expensive) and some live in the streets...

Go in Toulouse: there's a lot of foreigners students, there is sun, people are very ver nice, you are close to ocean, sea and mountains.

"The University in Grenoble is also very well known. And the city is very lovely. (The only place in France with bycicle paths crossing the whole city!"
-> It's false, Strasbourg has the same.

You could choose a language school in France if it is not necessary that you attend a university. I actually just finished my courses at ESL in Lyon (WONDERFUL city) and I could not be more pleased. There are language schools in most every big city in France.

Probably the Tours region, it is supposedly where French is spoken with the perfect accent.
I've also heard that the university in Grenoble (Stendhal) had a very good French for foreigners program.
