Who already visited France (but not only Paris) or met a french person out of europe ?

If so, what do you think about french attitude, meaning and so ??
What is the best point and the baddest one you had to face ?

I think that, for the most part, there is a stereotype attached to the French attitude towards Americans. You do have to make the effort to speak some French, and not just assume that they speak English. It is a different culture, and if you do some research you will feel very comfortable there. We found one thing that helped us was understanding that mealtime for the French is totally different than it is for Americans. Most Americans are in a big hurry, but dinner in France will take you three hours or so. It is actually a really great experience.

The Parisians are the ones with the worst attitude I found. Even with having a French accent when speaking didn't make a difference to them. The sweetest French people I met were the wonderful people of Bretagne, Strasbourg, and the Pau area.
So basically anyone not from the Parisian area.
(gonna receive flack for this statement but everything is relevant.)

I have been over there and although they can be a little "in your face" especially if politics are involved. Still if you go out to have fun noone will bother you. In fact I had a few wonderful nights trying to translate portugese, French, Spanish, and English in some of the bars.

If you treat them (French persons) right, they will treat you right. My weakest was I couldn't speak French very well and my strongest was my knowledge. We had been talking hours in the train.

I have found the French attitude to be mostly a stereotype and the people there, including Paris to be very friendly, even while speaking English. (Je parle français.)

yes Canada, there many city, in Canada, that only speech french.

French people are rather reserved and aloof until you know them well. Outwardly they do not appear friendly or approachable, but they are true friends once you get beyond the veneer, I feel.
