I have visited six times to date, and it helps that I speak fluent French. I do not expect the French to cater to my English speaking abilities, so I learned the language before and while visiting.
My favorite place to visit is Nice, as well as the
Musee D'Orsay.
All of Paris is nice, but I prefer the rolling countryside.

I plan to live there someday with my dogs and eat French cheese and fresh bread everyday, and have at least a couple land sheep.

I am French too, so the answer is yes.

That's funny how many English speakers expect us to answer their questions in their own language when they visit France. I would not ask for directions in French if I was in NYC... Do you think Indian tourists order their croissants in Hindi when entering a Parisian bakery?

You should at least make the effort to get the basics of the language when you visit a foreign country. Rudeness has two sides...

Been there several times. All over France.

Highly recommand it to everyone.

Born there, used to live there, miss it terribly. Was located in the Paris area, but lately I've been dreaming of trying a different location someday... maybe the Atlantic or Mediterranean coast...

I've been to Paris. A good tip would be to learn a bit of French. The people seem to only speak English to you after you've attempted speaking to them in French. Also beware as they allow dogs to piss on the street and dogs can go in pretty much every shop you can think of. If you're eating there, order everything burned!! Well done meat in France is about the equivalent of medium-rare. I had the misfortune of ordering a well done steak in Paris and it came back mooing at me.

Most of the North and down to Paris and Provence.

French are usually OK although do have a problem speak to people in any other language then french. Parisians are horrible though (although Paris is nice).
