Why could some frenchmen make a living just by teaching french all over the world except France? |
I know many English native speakers make their living by teaching English in many countries, such as Asia. However, French is not like English, which is an popular internationl lingual franca.
Why could some frenchmen make a living just by teaching french all over the world except France, such as Sudan, China? They could not make a living in their home country, France, right? Teaching their mother language in foreign countries, what is their career future? Would their work experience in the developping country be recognized in France?
Ps. Some of them work in Alliance Francaise. It seems that this orgnization has become a network of unemployed frenchmen who seek jobs outside France. |

Until WW2, France was the international language.
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fran%C3%A7ais
You may not undertand the reason why people want to learn our language because you're not cultured enough to speak this language full of colours, sounds and shades, delicacy... which is said to be the second most difficult language.
Contrary to English which is very mathematical, learning French in books is not possible. French is full of exceptions derived from a long history.
Our richness is our language: every sentence can be poetry.

Francoise
|
I think you are a very narrow minded person. Not everybody wants to learn English in the world. There's got to be someone who wants to learn French, Spanish or Chinese etc. And what's wrong with teaching French other than in France ? And how did you know there is no Frenchmen teaching French in France ? In fact there are many schools in France teaching new immigrants French, and the teachers are French. What about those Englishmen teaching English in other countries ? Can't they make a living in their home country, Britain ?
And don't insult Alliance Française if you don't know anything about it. It's not that every French person who can't find job outside France can go there and starts teaching straight away. The assessment for being qualify to teach there is very tough. To be able to teach there, first, you need to have a master degree of the French language, then you need to have a DAEFLE ( Diplôme d'aptitude à l'enseignement du français langue étrangère ) which means a diploma of teaching French as a foreign language, plus experience in teaching French as a foreign language before. Alliance Française is a long established school all over the world to give people a chance to learn proper French. Like British Council in many Asian countries, it offers people a chance to learn proper English taught by an English person, could we say that it's a bin for unemployed Englishmen outside England ? |
