Sarah C

Will be staying at Hotel Rueil. Paris. for two nights with my mother and two teenage girls is it best to get?

a taxi from the hotel to travel around paris and if so how expensive will this be or is it easy to get transit close to the hotel? We are only staying two nights. I am also looking for
a good priced french restaurant to take the girls to and some
nice cafe's with good cakes and coffee.

first: there are nice cafes with delicious cakes all over.there are"take out cafees" with cakes you can even point out the slice u want and take with you.you feel gulty to eat them they are so pretty.
shopping-boulevard haussman in montmartre.worth just viviting" galleries lafayette"! there are more stores around there.
if u want fancy -try the restaurant "fouquet´s" in champs elysees!this is a very well known little expensive place.but u can go in the afternoon for just coffee and cake.
as for good restaurant all bistros are good.the portions not as big as in USA. the restaurant AU PIED DU COCHON is a must.just for onion soup and a salad.it is a little expensive but hey, you are in paris! here you need a taxy but it is not in a far far away place.just difficult to get there.open 24 hrs.please do dot stop in starbucks of mcdonald´s.dare try new stuff
there is a very trendy bar in hotel costes,a very posh lounge.ask for directions.
i would not take a cab.in all hotels there are paris maps.it is such a pleasure to walk.you can walk everywhere!
good luck!
have breakfast in the hotel, hot chocolate, croisant -and yes ADD butter and marmalade, yougurt.all in most not very expensive hotels for 7 euros.it is a los but you are in a different place and on vacation.try their ways!
have loads of fun!

Do you mean the Quality Hôtel Rueil La Défense?

If so, please note that although this hotel in some online ads claims to be in "the Paris city centre" it is nothing of the sort. It is in a suburb and nowhere near the city centre.

To get into the city by public transportation there is a 15 minute walk to the commuter rail station where you can take the RER A line for about a 15 minute ride into the city.

i advice you to buy "croissants" or "pains au chocolat" at the baker's . That's where they are the best .

No taxi in Paris! the metro (subway) or hoof it. Bring comfortable shoes. Get water and a bagette (loaf of delicious bread). Enjoy every site you can. I don't have names for the cafes but know the Concierge at the Hotel Rueil can help out.
Sa va! I wish I was going too. Try exchange money at the airport too for pocket change. Otherwise credit cards but the rates change...
