Wine and Air France?

I'll be flying home to the USA from France later this week. I'm wondering how many bottles of wine I can pack in my checked luggage. I've heard many different answers, but I can't find any information on their web site. I'd appreciate any help!

Air France will have a luggage weight limit and a 'number of checked bags' limit, so you'll want to know those so you can avoid any fees.

As far as traveling with wine, as mentioned before, US Customs is the one who sets the limits. For it to be considered Duty-Free, each adult over 21 years of age is allowed *ONE LITER* of alcohol. The duty-free standard of $800 per person does not apply to alcohol. The person who said 6 bottles is VERY mistaken.

You are allowed to bring back as much as you want, within your state's laws, but you will have to pay duty on any declared alcohol over 1 Liter per person.

As a frequent traveler to Paris, when ever I come home I bring as many bottles as will fit comfortably in my suitcase without banging together. I also carry on a few. I was never questioned. Just make sure that you wrap your clothes around the bottles to prevent breakage.

shoe s
paCK AS MANY AS YOU CAN MAYBE NO ONE WILL CHECK YOU MAYBE THEY WILL YOU PAY A TAX SO WHAT BIG DEAL,WORSE THING IS THEY WILL TAKE IT AWAY IF NOT DECLARED

Air France won't track that....Go to the US Customs web site. (Sorry don't have the url.) They'll be able to tell you.

I think you can bring in about....6 bottles without paying a tax...I would double check just to make sure though.

I was in Portugal last fall and brought about 6 bottles of port wine with me. I know I was below the limit - there were 2 of us and the limit is based on each person.
