Would this look "French"?

We have to dress up in different themes for school this week like, italian, french, etc. For french, if I wore, black leggings, white boots, a black trench coat and a white beret I got in france, would that be French enough? Of course it is def. not accurate but I just want it to be somewhat obvious what my theme is. I feel weird just wearing leggings and a coat over though... What should I do? And should a top I wear on the inside be white?

It's not a fashion site, but the character is always dressed as a typical parisian girl.

It's realistic.

If you want to do something cliche, stay with beret :)

If you're rich, try Chanel :)

A scarf would help

I am assuming that you are a girl. French guys tend not to wear leggings alone. Actually in France, only war veterans at Armistice Day and D-Day ceremonies wear berets. If you really wanted to look French (and not just stereotype French from hollywood movies), you would wear a plain blouse, pullover sweater, tight jeans (cuffs end at the ankles and not bell bottoms) and loafers with no socks. You might have to carry a French flag bc ppl who have never been to France wouldn't get it. You could carry a loaf of French bread (baguette with no paper wrapper) and take a bite out of one end. You would look like a true French person (not being sarcastic, just honest). Also, French students carry briefcases, not back packs.

If you wanted to look stereotypically french wear a stripy top with a beret and a neckerchief. and the rest sounds good. carry a baguette with you or something.

Switch the beret for a scarf and we're in business =]
