The legs from frogs are eaten in France, yes. But it's not an everyday meal. I never tried them and I'm french. I never got the occasion to do it. I'm from Bretagne and here it's not in our culture, but it's from another region. Frenches also eat snails yes, and it's the same than frog legs but more current. I tried them. We also eat a lot of other strange things like seashells and oysters alive.
And about english Roast beef, we also call them like that because englishes get red as soon they are under our sun and so look like Roast beef.

They are a delicacy rather than an everyday food but yes they certainly do eat them (cuisses de grenouille).

Escargots are snails and they are also eaten occasionally.

They do eat the legs and snails though I have a school friend who farms them in Kent for the French Supermarkets.

Spike
Who told you that? Of course they do, frogs legs are a national delicacy. Thats why we call the French "frogs".
They call the English " Le Rossbeef" because of our national dish the good old sunday roast beef dinner.....yummmy!!!!!!!!

you are simply misinformed. although not too common, i have seen it on menus more than once while dining in france.

don't trust everything you hear!

David B
Nonsense. Here is a French recipe for Cuisses de grenouilles (frogs thighs) in French from a French website.

Only the legs. It is a delicacy and usually served in fine restaurants (just like snails - escargots). Both disgusting if you want my opinion.

shhhh!! don't tell them! we make tourists think frogs, snails and onion soup are very refined and delicate French meals! lol! let them dream...

Holy Crap!
