Take a walk around the streets of Paris, and you will notice lots of little 'bistros' and sometimes formal restaurants. These places have excellent food, at relatively cheap prices (Paris is an expensive city). You will usually see a 'menu' which is 3 courses for between 20 and 45 euro.
Also try looking around the local markets and the patiseries and boulangeries for excellent food. The markets will often sell cheeses, terrines, foie gras and pate. Just grab what you want, buy a baquette and head for a 'jardin'......

that piece of s..t of montego obviously has never been anywhere .obvious.and does not know about food may be except mac do.fine. in Paris you have the vaudeville in place de la bourse and not not so far away which is even better called chez Georges.1 rue Du mail.absolument super

Im not sure if this is the type of food u are looking to find in Paris, but while i was there me and my friends found a street vendor, offering subs, hot dogs,etc and believe me the hot dogs were reaaaaaaaaally good! i want one right now haha! its on the same street as notre-dame, so we sat on a bench that was in a bridge looking at the seine river, very good memories! actually you can buy cheaper souvenirs on that same street also!! have fun in paris!

You're thinking like a New Yorker. What places to avoid so I don't get ripped off? In Paris it's different. France as well as Italy are food cultures. You could eat almost anywhere in Paris without fear of falling into a tourist trap. You could walk a few blocks away from the Champs Elysee and find a great place or a few blocks away from the Rue de St. Michel on the left bank and find a great place. It's a food culture. Be adventurous.

Before I went to France in 2005, I had heard a lot about how good French food is. I thought, "Come on, how good can it really be?".

We're just ordinary folks; we ate in ordinary cafÃ©s and bistros. The food was so good: the ingredients were fresh, the meal presentation (not usually something I notice) was great, and it just tasted good. It was apparent that there is big difference in the expectations of the French compared our expectations for a meal in the US. The people preparing the food and the servers seemed to care more about the meal than here.

France has cafÃ©s everywhere. Just get off the beaten track and you'll find the places that the locals frequent.
