A little help with my German please?

Okay, so I'm trying very hard to learn German on rosetta stone haha and they don't ever give you translations. So a couple questions:

I'm learning colors, and you would have to match the sentence with the picture that goes with it. Some would say something like "Es ist rot." and others would say "Er ist gelb" So these are just variations of "it", right? But what is it dependent on? How will I know if I should say Es or Er?

"Sie" means she, they, and you?

Occupations (I only know 3 at this point, so maybe not) are said without singularity? Like instead of saying "I am a doctor" you would say "I am doctor"?

I'm sorry if I sound horribly stupid, haha but I'm trying my very best to learn.

Danke! :)

Your first question depends on the gender of the "it".
If the question is: What color is that house? Welche Farbe hat das Haus? (note that it is das Haus, so it's neuter), your answer would be: Es (neuter) ist rot.
On the other, if you are saying: What color is your table? Welche Farbe hat dein Tisch?, the answer would be "Er ist Gelb", because it's Der Tisch, so it's masculine.
Find out the gender of the verb and you know whether to use Er, Sie, or Es.

Secondly, "Sie" has many translations, yes. Here the personals:
Ich - I
Du - You
Er - He
Sie - SHE, first person singular
Es - It

Sie - You, the formal form. This is second person for people whom you speak to in a formal setting.

Wir - We
Ihr - You
Sie - They, the third person plural.

Lastly, the occupation rule - it is true that you should leave out the article, because it sounds a lot better in German.
So you would say: "Ich bin Doktor."
"Ich bin ein Doktor" isn't incorrect or anything, but with most occupations it just sounds odd to add the article, because it's unnecessary.

Good luck, I hoped I helped!
Bitte :)

I'm a native German and I really think that Rosetta Stone is only useful for a starter, but after that, you might want to delve deeper in the grammar of languages. -- The German genders (der, die, das - male, female, neuter) are not easy to understand for beginners, but be assured that every German will understand what you mean if you mix them up. To be really fluent in German, I suppose it needs a year of rosetta and then three or four years of thourough learning. Our language is not easy.

Let me give you a simple example:
The man's wife's daughter has gone swimming.
In German:
Die Tochter der Ehefrau des Mannes ist zum Schwimmen gegangen.
(Of course nobody in both our countries would say something like that; we'd rather say "Sandy's out swimming with her boyfriend", but you get what I mean?)+

And, btw:

If you're a girl:
a man is man - male - der Mann
a woman is a woman - female - die Frau
a girl is a girl - neuter - das Mädchen
But if someone calls you a "süßes Mädel" or "schönes Mädel", even when you're 40 years of age or older, take that as a compliment. At least from a Southerner like me. -- Whereas "junge Frau" can often be meant insulting.

Isa said it all and very well.
I found the below website, which I find correct and helpful in learning German, so this might be a good addition to Rosetta Stone.
