I'm German, but there's nothing that "international studies" translates to. Best approach probably is
"John studiert internationale Politikwissenschaft."
(You can leave out the "college", because "studieren" implies that; and I added the "Politik" because you usually specify the subject in German and don't only refer to "international". It might as well be "Wirtschaftswissenschaft" - economy - or "Sprachwissenschaft" - languages -, or something completely different.)

The motorbike thing is easy:
"Andrew fährt gerne Motorrad."

If you want, you can also translate John (Hans) and Andrew (Andreas) into German; but it's a long time since I've seen someone doing that. Translating names is silly stuff. Would you call Apple's CEO "Stefan Arbeiten"? Sure not. And how does "Wozniak" translate?

@rio, which translation engine gave you the word "Völkerkunde"? It is no longer used in Germany because it has a strong nazi touch. We're very sensible about the use of the word "Volk" or "Völker" (plural). Völkerkunde is ethnology (Ethnologie), which actually means the same, but because it's Greek and sounds scientific, it's mostly preferred.

About the "Politikwissenschaft" I also wasn't sure, but I thought that "foreign relations" or "foreign studies" might go along well with the political sciences, or sociology. As I said, it was sort of an "educated guess", and it's always difficult to translate single phrases without knowing the context. Being a native speaker is not very much helpful in such a case; in a realtime conversation I would have asked two or three questions to find out what exactly John's studies are about and then would have come up with the proper word.

First I had no idea what international studies are, I disliked Alwin´s translation with "internationale Politikwissenschaften", but my guesses were not better "internationale Beziehungen" (international relations)
In such a situation it is best to ask wiki, I tipped "international studies" in wiki. wiki linked me to "international education" and gave 2meaningss.
1) foreign student exchange program 2) The knowledge of peoples culture.
That means ---> John geht auf das College für Völkerkunde.

2) Andrew mag gern mit seinem Motorrad fahren.
Andrew fährt gern mit seinem Motorrad. is better

@Alwin: No Alwin I did not use a translation engine to find "Völkerkunde". I used my brains and wiki. babelfish translated "international studies" with "International Studies" --- very helpful. My first guess used my latin knowledge "studies" ~ "Bemühungen", but there is no subject "internationale Bemühngen" so I wanted to translate it with "internationale Beziehungen". But I did not feel well. Beside the way "internationale Beziehungen" is the correct terminus technicus for your invention "internationale Politikwissenschaft" look at wiki

And this comes very close to the subject "Völkerkunde" I learned that they have replaced the term "Völkerkunde" by "Volkskunde" meanwhile. Totally idiotic for they work with all the people ( then it must be Völker [plural] and not singular [Volk]). (Here you learn why this old jewish guy from Galizia, Marcel Reich-Ranitzki is always so angry when he speaks about Germanistik problems in German TV --- the Germans of today don´t know German.)

Sorry, I am wrong probably today the sentence must be translated:
John geht auf das College für Volkskunde.
Possibly it is better to translate it with
John besucht das Institut für Volkskunde.
With the exception he studies in Cologne
there you have to translate

John studiert am Institut für Völkerkunde. (Possibly they´ve simply forgotten to rename their instute :-) ).
Oh, sorry I am wrong again, they now renamed it to "Institut für Ethnologie"
Funny is a lot of institutes are renamed, but their museums still are "Museum für Völkerkunde"). e. g. Hamburg

Alwin, why do you believe "Völkerkunde" has a NAZI touch?
Even the Bavarians named their museum
"Staatliches Museum für Völkerkunde München
