Frankfurt is full with life. Red light district is cool too. Not dangerous.

Almost every German city with a University has a great nightlife and Frankfurt is one of the biggest and most important cities of the country.
Here are some nice clubs:
"Living XXL"
"Kinkamehameha club"
"Cocoon club"

Yes I was there long time ago. It is a big city and lots of places to go have a look at. I do not know the night life but I guess it should be colorful!

Frankfurt's an interesting place. Unlike other German cities, it's got a very modern look and feel to it, since it was almost completely rebuilt from scratch after being flattened by Allied bombings more than 60 years ago... I've heard it described as the "most American city" in Germany, which is a silly thing to say. There's plenty of shopping, and as far as night life goes, plenty of bars, pubs, clubs, and the like, although I rarely spend time going to places like that. There's even an English-language movie theater, across the street from the Eschenheimer Turm (tower) a block or two away from the Hauptwache and Zeilgalerie. The Romerplatz and Dom are worth a visit. It's a big enough and cosmopolitan enough city that just about anyone can find something to do and enjoy themselves. The surrounding area has even more things to see and do, if you've got the time.
