Yes, I've been there. Munich was very nice. Frankfurt was a little scary in the downtown area. The Rhine River cities are quite beautiful.

Lived there for three years(Air Force brat). It is really nice and a lot of the people are really friendly to tourists.

Many many times besides having lived and worked there.A good place to visit English is spoken in most major tourist cities.Do not be tempted to join the hooligan element as German Police do not mess about.
