I'm a German and I visit South Africa on a regular basis.
I have spent nearly 8 months there in the last 5 years.
The country is beautiful, and where I visit (Western Cape) most people don't even lock their doors. I know that many people, not only Germans, are afraid to go to South Africa because they are afraid of crime.
I spent some time in Durban, which I really enjoyed, and some in Cape Town - awesome!
Of course I have seen all the obvious touristy things (one of the best was actually the Aquarium in Cape Town), and now I would like to see more of the "African" South Africa.

I am a German and I already have visited Namibia. That was a great trip. Of course we particularly enjoyed the Etosha national park, and I think we would also like to visit Kruger national park in South Africa one day if the opportunity arises. On the other hand, news from South Africa seem not to be very encouraging at the moment.

I´m a South African living in Germany and it´s scary that Germans has no knowledge of South Africa. The only place they know is Cape Town. When people ask me where I´m from and I say South Africa they usually reply with `but you are not black`
But most people here that knows about South Africa wants to go or has already been there and loved it...

My husband is German and we are planning to go back as soon as our house is paid of and I can not wait to go home !!!

I am a German-American (if that counts) who can at least read quite a bit of German (so Afrikaans might be a little similar) - but I don't want to go there and get mistaken for an Afrikaaner (anyone read the news?)

I'm German and I definetely want to visit South Africa. I would like to see all the nature there.. the countryside and the animals. But I'd also like to check out the cities, beaches, and nightlife. I've been wanting to go for some time now, and I will almost surely be there for the World Cup!
