Are apples legal in germany...?

I know this is strange but two foreign exchange girls from germany in my class said apples don't grow in their country because of the climate but there are lots of banana trees. They also said apples are illegal there and they are not allowed to eat them or even have them, they can be arrested. They went on about apple security at the german airport, something they signed before they came over to the U.S. saying they swear not to eat apples and a bunch of other things I just could not take seriously including the "Miss Banana Pageant" which is similar to the miss america pageant. I tried doing some research on the web but could not find anything about what those two were ranting about. They went on with this for 30 whole minutes without cracking a smile, this is why I still partially believe. Or they are just very convincing liars. I must say they are very cute though. lol

They're messing with you.

If this is a serious question then the two girls really told you a fairy tale. These girls are definitely great in inventing a wild story.
Apples do grow in Germany, but no bananas besides maybe some in peoples gardens or glass-houses. For bananas the German climate is not the best climate.

Besides apple juice, apple wine ("Aeppelwoi") and apple cake there are several genuine German dishes served with apple sauce and these apples are not imported!

Biedronka
They are just joking with you. Apples grow everywhere even in the wild in the right places.
If you are interested here is a list of apples:

I am German and my favorite cake is an applecake, totally legal, trust me:) We do not grow Bananatrees, we don´t even have the climate for them, but apples we got plenty all over-btw in secondlife(not sure if you ever heard of it) there is a German region called Apfelland.....applecountry
and we even got Apfelwein, wine made out of apples, for my taste to sour but many love it during summertimes.

greetings out of Germany

Simone
They were just kidding you. Of course apples grow in Germany and are absolutely legal. :-)

Have you been in an I.T. class?

Baby, beware!

Better buy an eeePC running on Linux before you come to Germany. And do not, do NEVER import iTunes on an iPod! Ve hav vays ov making you talk! Waterboarding was yesterday, all yer pod are belong to us! Resistance is futile!

Besides of that, apple trees are legal. We may use you to cut them in spring, if you qualify. Do you know how to use a chainsaw?

Man Bear Pig
Apples to grow here
they used to fall in our driveway.
And the bees were INSANE because we'd run the apples over.
