Are there many jobs for English speakers in Berlin?

Look dude im only 16. But I live in Berlin and all my teachers are American. The problem these ppl most often encounter when leaving their jobs at my school is that they lov berlin but they dont speak german and they cant find a job. So with that in mind dont give up but consider yourself lucky if you can find a german employer wo would rather employ you than a german citizen when berlin is pushing about an 18% unemployment rate. But hey!! Im only 16 and Im probably wrong.................

It is really hard to get work permission over here for an American. But it is super cheap to live over here, especially if you only want to stay here for the summer. You might find it easier to just save up your money by working in the U.S. and coming over here without planning to work. Food is cheap if you buy it at the grocery store, rent is really cheap espcially with a roommate. I say come over here and bum around and don't worry about working.

Finding a job is no piece of cake; even for Germans. I lived there for 7 years and only finally got 2 "real" job interviews a few months before I moved back to the US. Until then, I had worked as an English teacher for Berlitz, Inligua, Die Neue Schule and some private classe I landed on my own.

MANY English speakers teach English as a way to live in Europe for a temporary amount of time. And many of them, like me, end up staying a lot longer than they originally planned!

I know Berlitz and Inlingua both offer training (unpaid), but if you want to teach and have not experience, that may be the way to go. I think there are 4 Berltiz schools in Berlin and only one Inlingua. They generally WANT people who don't speak German because they want you to stay in the target language (English) in class and not translate for the students. You can probably check out their websites. YOur being hired will basically be based on your personality, if you have a college degree and how you do in the training.

I also forgot, you won't need a work permit to teach English. You will be considered self-employed and only will need a Visa.

English is fairly well taught in Germany now and probably you would need a more advanced knowledge of German to land a job.

Plus, you have to have a work permit or visa which means a job lined up with an American or other foriegn company. Check with the State Department, they have courses and opening for people abroad.

Finding jobs in germany in general is not much difficult if you knw german, but not all the companies need it, but it also depends on which field and area you need......there are many websites for job searching...u can get it in google...its also possible that you can come from the company in india......why not try for that...Gud luck!!!!!!!

You can try EAD's aircraft they have some summer internships, or Daimler Chrysler.
