German trains with rest rooms?

All German trains have many unisex rest rooms, whereas otherwise German rest rooms are usually not unisex.

Rest rooms in Germany may be labled as: WC (meaning water closet), 00 (meaning the rooms with no numbered office use in office buildings), Herren (gentlemen), Damen (ladies), Toilette (toilet) or Toiletten (toilets), or there is a logo with a man or a woman on it. There are also public rest room in every city.

There are different types of trains: the slow ones, which stop at about any station; the medium fast ones, which stop at certain stations, and the very fast ones, which rush from big city to big city.

The very fast ones and some of the faster ones have a "Speisewagen," a restaurant. You can also bring your own food and eat it where you are seated.

All trains have (or had) smoker and nonsmoker areas. Seating can be reserved ahead. In most cases, tickets must be bought at the station. A travel agent can also help.

There are different systems to open the train doors. You may want to inquire ahead, not to miss your train, trying to figure out how to get on.

Happy travel!
