What's the average number of days of thunderstorms in Germany during each month of summer?

Actual thunderstorms? Very seldom. Maybe 1-2 every summer.

If you're asking about rain, that's a whole different answer. But I'll answer that question with a question: Have you ever wondered why Germany is so green?

I live in Dortmund and last summer I didn't count them but there were a hell of a lot, and really loud and a bit scary to be honest

It also depends on the area you live. I live near Frankfurt, in the middle, and I can't remember more than three last summer. Plenty of months are without any. In April when the weather changes and in summer, that's when you may expect them.

Usually, I'm very surprized when a thunderstorm starts, as it's unexpected.

there's no telling with Germany's weather. LOL but last year there was a few near Bamberg.

I have no idea - however, you might want to check out http://www.blids.de/ - the german lightning information service from Siemens which gives you an overview on all lightnings across GB, Germany, Switzerland and Poland.

Germany as a whole? If you count a few
minor bangs at least one every day and
if you're in the "right" spot and it's a bad
season you can have one nearly every
day where you are. If you just count the
ones that make your car turn into a low-
rider maybe a hand full during the season.

As Poppy said. The location is very important.
There're areas with hardly any and areas with
a "daily dose".
