honestly yes...girls are drinking as the mens do...but its NOT as it is in other nations opinion about the Germans...that we are the whole day drunken HUH. you know we have a big knowledge about beer and know how to handle it even in consume LOL beer is so important in Germany as cars are so important in Germany ;) maybe everything what needs time for the manufacturing like a very good beer formula :D is a German case...we have time...and beside all the alcohol stuff have the Germans the highest IQ in Europe :) its an official study (released from a British institution)...so it is everything under control with the German health by our "relationship" to beer...

Beer is probably about as rooted in German culture as it is in American culture. I'm a German native who has lived in the states for a while, and it seems about the same. Except in America, the beer tastes like cold urine, whereas in some other countries, it's actually worth drinking...

It's like Burger and Americans? same goes with Beer and Germans and Vodka and Russian? it is a culture that so many locals doesn't even know how it started. It is simple part of daily lives and the abundance around them.

Yes, Most German women also like beer. It is not a gender thing. In Bavaria, beer even is (or was traditionally) considered food that even poor people were entitled to having. The "Reinheitsgebot", the basis for beer recipes for most , almost all, German beers from nowadays was written down in 1516, which means there must have been a huge amount of mis-brewing for something like that to have been instituted. So you see that beer is rooted very deeply in German culture.

Well, I'm not "everyone", but I'm Bavarian, which is "beer country", actually, but I prefer a good red southern wine over any brand of beer they sell here. Which doesn't mean that I don't drink beer on occasions, Bavaria is so rich in local breweries, so when I see a brand in a pub or restaurant I don't already know, I just HAVE to try a glass.

As to the man/woman thing: There are men like me who don't like beer that much and prefer something else, as well as there are girls who like beer and others who drink something else. I think many people drink beer because it's the cheapest alcoholic drink you can get in a pub or restaurant. But we don't live in the 1950's anymore, where a beer-drinking woman would have been frowned upon. I know many a woman who drinks beer, and be it "unleaded" ("bleifrei" in German, that means: without alcohol). Because, after all, it's served in a glass, and you can't see what it is. (I also drink "bleifrei" from time to time when I know I have to drive, while everyone else drinks "real beer". But I like the "heavy fuel", too, especially the dark beer.)

As I live close to the border to the Czech Republic, I know some of their beers, too, and I'm not sure whether Germany really has the best beer in the world. I tried some of the Czech beers, and they beat German beer at lengths. The "Gambrinus" from Plzen is the one I like most.

hihi Germans+ Beer... haha so funny and so true.. and I am German so ...

well we have so many different kinds of beer... even the ones who don´t like it .. would find at least 1 beer what the like..

I would not say its just a men thing... girls also drink beer,,... maybe not so often like the boys .. but yeah.. both drink it...

I think it is ranked up there with food for the germans.

In Bavaria Beer is not taxed as it is considered a staple food.
Both - they also drink schnapps, fruit wines and Jägermeister.

Somebody here has tasted cold urine? Hmm.... Well, I like a good German beer better than a bad American beer anytime. But I like good American beers, too. There are a lot of fine American beers and there are a few cheep beers that don't have a lot of taste, that I never drink anyway. And, it goes without saying that I can't really compare them to cold urine. Oops, sorry... I didn't answer your question. My favorite kind of beer is German beer...no, wait, British beer... a good stout...mmmm... My third favorite is American beer... but not Coors or Budweiser, of course! I know, I know, I still didn't answer your question... I figure it's like foreign films. Only the best foreign films are available for rental in America. That doesn't mean that foreign films are better than American films. It means that the best foreign films are better than the average American film. Hopefully the best American beers are better than the average German beer, too. Here's something fun... a list of the best widely distributed beers in the world... According to this list, the best beers are from... drumroll... Belgium.

P.S. I don't know the answer to your question. I bet you dollars to donuts that German girls like beer, though!
