Berlin, Germany Questions.?

A friend and I are planning on making a trip to Berlin, Germany for the summer, and we have a few questions in mind:

How old do you have to be to drink in Germany?
How old do you have to be to drive around there?
Any hotels/restaurants do you recommend?
Any advice? :)

Keep in mind that me and my best friend are both teenagers, if that helps at all...?

Hotels to recomend in which cities??
I like the chain Dorint they are 4 star hotels in a lot of cities all over Germany.

bernd is correct so far but forget about the dorint hotel chain. they are simply bad. I would go for Marriott. A true American hotel chain makes you feeling home anywhere on this planet. And about the restaurant : I suggest Mc Do. You can't do something wrong here either and the taste is way better than this bratwurst and sauerkraut junk available at every corner.

You don't need a car in Germany, especially not in Berlin. The public transportation system is great! You will get to know the city so much more quickly, see more and never have to worry about parking. Theres a subway, an above ground train, busses and a tram.

There are too many hotels and restaurants to discuss. I would buy a book on Berlin. It is one of the best cities in Europe!

Beer/wine: 16 Liquor: 18
Drive around/ get drivers license: 18 (or, for getting your drivers license, 17, as a learner), but to rent a car you have to be at least 24, and have a credit card. At least most rental companies have that policy.

There are numerous hostels in Berlin that might be worth looking into. They are loads cheaper than hotels, and basically enable you to get a room somewhere closer to the center than you could normally afford.
