there is a fast train (SBahn?) and the slower one that is the equivalent of the London Underground (UBahn?).

the fast train only stops at 2 or 3 central Berlin stations, the slow one stops at every station on its line.

I found the station signage quite confusing however, best to ask a German, they're quite helpful and mostly speak great English.

make sure you buy a ticket before you get on.

Okay, me living in Berlin all my life, I can tell you for sure that our bus, S-Bahn and U-Bahn cost all the same,
2,10 € for an adult.
To answer your question: If you take the S9 (S-Bahn), it'll take you straight to Alexander Platz. Thats pretty much in the center of Berlin. From there you can switch trains (U2, U-Bahn) to either get to Potsdamer Platz (Brandenburger Tor) or Wittenberg Platz (Ku'Damm), which IS the center of Berlin... where the action is.
Enjoy your stay!

Unfortunately they don't offer a bus directly to the city center.
But you can check times of the public transport system under

Have a nice day

There're buses, trains and taxis all available to take you anywhere in Berlin you want. And most of them will be signposted in English too, for the non-German speakers.

Bus is cheapest, train's quicker and not too expensive and taxi takes you door to door but costs more (live everywhere else).

There's a map here (but it's in German).

Sure...
In bErlin is a bus to every think..
ask on the airport in your town.. or when you are in Berlin its easy to find a bus or a taxi

The best way is to get the free shuttle bus from the terminal building to the station - its about 500yards. Then get the SBahn or the RE (Regional Express) into town. The SBahn stops 13 times on the way to Alexander Platz and 19 if you are going to Zoologischergarten. The RE only stops at Ostbahnhof, Alexander Platz, Hauptbahnhof and Zoo. There is no Ubahn connection to Schönefeld - you have to get a bus to Rudow the terminus of line U7. There are Express buses that take you into the centre of town too. The cost is €2.10 for two hours in one direction on whatever form of transport you choose to use. Dare I suggest you look at www.jbb7994.com. Enjoy your stay in Berlin - its fascinating.

Crispy??!! Are you leaving me?

Those blue eyed, blonde haired German girls aren't a patch on me, you know.

Can't answer your question though since I've never been further than Milton Keynes however hope you have a brilliant time whatever you'll be going there!
