Berlin is unlike other European cities in that it is like two cities (or more) meshed together. This is because of the reunification of Germany and Berlin, which makes Berlin a very intresting, yet strange place. It is worth visiting, but as a word of warning, it does not have much of the 'sparkle' of other German cities such as Munich or Dresden. However, Spandau, a section of Berlin, is similiar to streets in Dresden and Munich. Since you can fly between Munich and Berlin for 45 euros using easyjet (book early) i would fly into Munich, fly to Berlin, tour Berlin, then fly to munich to tour. I have done this twice and its an amazing trip. |

I spent a week there last August. It's a very historical and absolutely fascinating city. If you can take a tour, I highly recommend Brewer's Berlin tours. This guy knows everything about Berlin, and he teaches his guides well. There's so much to see that if you go for a weekend, you can't possibly come near taking it all in, but you could still see a lot in two days. I think everyone should see the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, if nothing else. |

Berlin is one of my favourite cities in Europe. Definitely a must see, whether you are a museum goer or the kind that loves to sit on terrasses drinking wine or a Café au Lait. They have some great underground theatre, and the night life is really good as well. |

we just back from Berlin 10 days ago. It is a very beautiful city, far exceed our expectation. my favorate are "Pergamon Museum" and "Reichstag". Good architecture everywhere, and great food too. people weren't very friendly, but that didn't stop us from loving Berlin. |

Nein(no), Berlin is not a good city to visit. It is a GREAT city
to visit. Lived there 2 1/2 years. Nightlife: Super. Culture:
Super. Restaurants: Super. Museums: Super. Taverns or
Pubs or Bars: Super. Transportation: Super. Fast food
(Bockwurst, shashlik): Super. Expensive: VERY SUPER.
Best if you are with at least 2 or 3 people.

Definitely worth going although a weekend seems to be rather short as there are loads of excellent museums there! A visit to Checkpoint Charlie and the other site where the SS Headoffice used to be are educational and the theatres, ballets, operas... are also a must.
I would also recommend a night stroll in the around the Brandenburg gates as the place looks lovely with the lights and the FIFA World Cup atmosphere. |

With over 152 museums and galleries, so much history packed in this incredible city, such a diversity of cultures and people, Berlin is undoubtedly one of the most interesting destinations to go for a weekend, or even better a few weeks. No matter how long you stay in this city, you will never get bored. There's a great U-Bahn (metro/train) that will take you anywhere. Whether you opt for markets, shops, walking tours around the city, or museums, you will be enchanted. If you are looking for accomodation I would strongly suggest you the Bax Pax Hostel in Kreuzberg where I stayed for over 3 weeks and met great people from all over the world. Enjoy Berlin, I definitely would again! |
