Greece is very beautiful....it is warm, you can lay out on the beach, and it is very cultural. So you have all in one.
If you are into sightseeing, try Budapest. It is one of the most beautiful cities I have been to. (I was born there)
Or how about Egypt or Thailand? Haven't been there yet, but I heard good thing about them. Thailand is very cheap too... |

My mother swears by the Canary Islands, especially the RIU hotel chain. But then she has got the money for these trips. :-)
I personally like to go to the Middle East; Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Iran etc. Italy was a highlight too. All trips low-budget, backpacking and staying in hostels and cheap hotels.
I can second the rec for Israel, it is an amazing country. But for a family trip with a small child, Egypt and Italy are better.
With older children, camping trips withing Germany are an interesting possibility. |
