Any month of the year is great to go to Germany!
Germany has 4 seasons and I don't know which one you prefer.
Ticket wise though lower cost, would be anything between January to beginning of May and end of August to beginning of Dec.Everything in between is considered high season (Dec. at christmas season price will rise again)
It's also least expensive to fly into Frankfurt Intl. Airport and go from there.
The rainy season is mostly in April and the hottest one in June/July.
Where in Germany are you most interested to go?
Down south you'll have the mountains up north it's more flat but you'll have the ocean, many lakes and throughout the country lots of history, castles and culture.
No matter where and when you go
1000% fun factor is guaranteed !
And yes Greece is beautiful too.But she wants to explore
Good ol' Germany.May be next time?

July, August, September. These are the warmest months of the year, and if you arrive in late September, you might even see the first week of Oktoberfest in Munich (which is called Oktoberfest because it lasts into October, but actually starts in late September).
Prices are lower in "early season", which is April/May; there is actually no "late season", except in some "wellness resorts", but there's not much to discover in Germany in November. Winter season starts early in November, and most of all, avoid the christmas days and "the time between years". In Bavaria, avoid the time between Dec 24th and Jan7th, because these are holiday times and all shops and probably interesting bars and restaurants (as long as they're not touristic) will be closed.
I'd recommend June or July. This is my favorite time of the year. But there's no guarantee for the weather in Germany. Some years it's incredibly hot (like in 2003), some years it's cold and rainy (like this and last year). Experience tells me that 2009 should be a rather warm summer again. |

Best month ? There is no best month in Germany. The best month depends on what you like. If you like hot temperatures blu sky --- come in end of may to north Germany (the time Alwin ask that we should send some sun to Bavaria). If you want to have a bath in the sea come after the second half of July to the first half of September. (but all resorts at the coast have inside and the greater also outside warmed pools). If you want to have culture come in the second half of July there are a lot of classical festivals (Eutin) for excample. But if you want top international culture you have 2 choices New York or Hamburg, except you like Jazz then you have two choices New Orleans or Hamburg and you should come from October to May If you like cuisine then come fom November to May to the North. Have mushrooms, vension, mussels, stint, Maischolle (flounder) and fresch Matjes and the dish making all notheern germans mad ---> Grünkohl.
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
Heinz
If Bavaria is closed fron 24th of dec ot 7th of jan come to Hamburg --- Hamburg Reeperbahn is open for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year --- there you get what you want. And on Christmas don`t miss our ballett --- bolschoi from Mosque our tradition since more than 30 years. |
