BICYCLE rental?

I would take a folding bike with me next time I go to Europe.

I was in the United States Navy in 1992, and we made a port-of-call in Spain. I rented a bicycle and rode 126 miles in one day! And it was a mountain bike.

At the next port-of-call in France, I went to a bicycle rental shop, and they showed me a bicycle that had worn out tires. The black rubber was worn all the way through and the fibre was showing. I said it wouldn't do, expecting them to put a new tire on the bike. They asked how many miles I planned to ride... I said "I rode 126 miles two weeks ago in Spain".
They immediately said the shop was closed, locked the shop and left.

I would say it depends on the city.
