yes, you can! just if they ask, you must tell them....sometimes they put a sticker on the box...human remains...I see ppl all the time with boxes of ashes...I work at the airport! I will have to do the same thing in may...bringing the ashes of my patents! put please...not the carry-on!

As the others have said, check with the airlines regarding how to best transport them.

BUT: scattering ashes in Germany is illegal! German law only allows for burial of human remains in specified / approved places.

So - you may be able to bring them on board, but having them here may get you in trouble.

Best people to ask are the airline, TSA and I would call the german consultate nearest you as well.

Definitely not in your Hand luggage!!!! Perhaps in your normal luggage... Ask your airline.
