Hey you, you will probably have a hard time getting a job on the economy but yo can try to gt a job for the military. There is a base close by and they are constantly looking for all kinds of people. You might not get a job as a truck driver right away but once you have a foot in the door you can apply for other positions which are often posted internal only. Try the following link, klick on employment...........
Good Luck |

Do you have your German truck license? If not, then no. If yes, then good luck. With the unemployment rate being so high in Germany right now, the germans can't get a job. Have you checked out the employement opportunities with the US military down there? |

no i don't think so...........i've heard it's very hard for a non-german speaking person to get a job in Germany. |

You have to get a working permission visa first. Also, you can contact the Arbeitsagentur (contact adress: http://www.meldebox.de/Arbeitsamt/Stuttgart) who will be able to give you open adresses for positions.
But it's generally very difficult for non-EU citizens to get a job. |

Truck drivers are in demand, so if your driving license is valid in germany, maybe yes.You should speak at least a little german however, since you need to hand over the cargo to someone. Furthermore, you should know that truck driving in germany is a tough bussiness (I don't know what it's like in the US, probably similar), don't be surprised if you have to keep driving for more than 20 or 30 hours.(It's against the law, but the truckage companies don't care.) |

David,
The folks are right. Go over to Patch Barracks in Stuttgart....check out the CPAC/CPOC and ask about positions as a driver. I can almost guarnatee that one is either available or will be available in the near future. You don't need German License. If employed there you would receive a USAREUR driver's license that allows you to drive both on post and off. Never mind what USAREUR means. If employed you'll learn later!! Good luck and tell em I sent you. |
