I live here in Munich, you must have much luck to get a hotel room here during the fest season.
I suggest that you go to places around Munich and take the train in the city.
try to search in the net for a map and look up the citys close to Munich. And then search for hotels in those citys.
Call them and ask. |

I stayed at a place called Easy Palace (yes, the name sounds shady, but it's not) a few years ago. It wasn't anything too special - but was nice enough for the weekend. Being as it's Oktoberfest though, finding a place is going to be very difficult. |

All hotels and hostels are typically booked solid during Octoberfest. If you want to go, reserve in advance in January especially if you are travelling in a group.
If you do not book ahead you only chance is to go alone and hope somebody cancelled his reservation when you show up. The very last days of Octoberfest can be a good option for this - but always have a back-up plan (like hitting Innsbruck, Salzburg, Nuernberg instead.) |

wow, kinda late to be booking hotels only a week before the oktoberfest starts....just browse the internet, thats all i can say. at this time of year i would say 90% of Munich's cheaper hotels are booked out, so you have to be REAL lucky to find the remaining 10%....and the prices will most likely be outraging...
