Can anyone recommend an inexpensive but lovely hotel in Berlin from personal experience?

I've done my research on tripadvisor, expedia, octopus travel, alpharooms etc. I'm just asking to get ideas from you people who may have first hand experience!

You are not specifying your budget level. There are many hotels with very good hospitality, but some are expensive also. So please specify your budget, otherwise you can choose your hotel from;

Here you can find all categories of hotels and also there are rate list are also given. This will help you.

Did you look up the Berlin Mark? It's your basic, no frills, clean room, clean bed, type hotel..but I would stay there again very happily. I need a Good breakfast buffet and it was fine. The hotel is spotless.
Good location in West Berlin, with public transport very close. Again, I was very pleased with this hotel and I recommend it with no hesitation.

Berlin Plaza three star,only ten minutes walk from the zoo station just around the corner from KuDamm.The current price per room is around ÂŁ50 for two people bed and breakfast,in the same building is a bar where you can get an evening meal for a reasonable price.

For many years I used Hotel am Anhalter Bahnhof. It is a hotel garni. I have never wanted much from a hotel because all I do is sleep and have breakfast there. The rest of the time I am out and about.

Ive never been... but would like to know as well.

I recently spent the weekend in Berlin and we stayed in the Alcatraz hostel. Here you can pay for whole apartments which would be suitable for groups or families as you have your own kitchen and bathroom and separate bedrooms. Relatively cheap too. I think its about 200 Euros for 2 nights.
