You probably know this by now - if you read the comments on youtube - but the clip is an advertisement for the movie cloverfield: http://www.cloverfieldmovie.com/
OK - I have seen the video. I will start with a short synopsis. However, it is clearly some kind of a put on - or early advertising for a video game of some kind? (since writing this I have found out that it is an ad for the movie "Cloverfield"). The TV network is non-existent - and most of the video looks like it was CGIed. Notice that the news agency is NNC - which is CNN backwards.
The synopsis is that there was a drilling platform 1300 KM off the coast of New York that completely collapsed, by unexplainable reasons, three days ago. It claims that the platform opened in September 2007 and is one of the largest in the world. At the time of the catastrophe, there were 355 workers onboard.
The platform is operated by a Japanese company and was designed by a German company. They interview the German designer and he explains that such a catastrophic structural failure would have been completely physically impossible, so it could not have been caused by a design failure.
The poor-quality videos which were the last transmissions from the platform appear to show some sort of shots being fired on the platform just prior to the collapse.
The company has previously been accused of hiring a small private army and experts are currently investigating whether the collapse was caused by some sort of para-military action. |
