Can i go to school in germany? |
ok so i graduated from high school here in america where i have lived my whole life in NY. i take german language courses in community college right now. im 18 years old, so lets say i go to germany next year and stay with a friend can i still go to their high school (Gymnasium)??. because i cant go to college there because i dont have the required 2 years of college and a language test |

Since u have an American HS diploma it might be difficult to get into a German HS - why not try a Fachhochschule or Berufsschule? |

I am sure you can do a Schule Austausch. You are right about univeristy - you need to pass the hellishly difficult German test.

Maybe, but I would really go and ask the German embassy that question. I guess it depends on the German state your friend lives in and their requirements, but really I think it should be possible. The bigger problem might be to get the visa to stay and the financial aspect of it all, as well as the language barrier, as I think you will have to pass a test before you would be aloud to attend a German school, too.
